Been a lurker for a few years and finally got a B9 FL early this year. Daytona grey with carbon bits. After owning an 8J TT it’s been quite a while before I came back to an Audi.

It was an ex-demo clocking tad over 12k miles. Covered 2k miles in my hands over the first 3 months and the front right damper blew up out of blue, followed by leakages from DRC valves.

See the puddle of oil on the lower arm?
It started with small rattles from around the upper strut mount on a highway and within an hour or two the whole suspension assembly was shaking like crazy, and then the DRC valves started to make creaking noises under the boot  Behind the wheel arch insulation and heat shield is the front exhaust pipe so in the worst case scenario it could have caught fire…?
Lucky I made it home safe and my warranty was still valid.

The dealer was sweet and replaced everything that was damaged under warranty in just a couple of weeks. Everything’s fine now… here’s hoping I’m through the bad patches.

And oh yes, it’s really a lovely car

Thanks, I was torn between Nardo and Daytona but picked up the latter as my other 2020 Jimny looks almost the same.

Thanks. And yup. Lucky the issues with suspensions surfaced while the warranty is still valid. If I babied the car too much and didn’t take the car out for rides I might have looked over the troubles.

The original Conti SC6 still had plenty of rubber left but I changed them over to brand new SC7 in OE size. They’re AMAZING! Great dry and wet grip balance like I’ve never experienced before. Gives out the ride quality really slightly to PS4S but it’s got much better steering feedback.

Ah, a Jimmy. We are patiently waiting for the electric version to come out to replace my wife’s i3s with. They look like great fun!
