Livid - Audi or Dealer or Workshop

Post by Rwg » Tue Aug 02, 2022 7:32 am

H,
Looking for any assistance e regarding the problem with black exhaust tips, briefly:
Reported this to dealer when car was just 12mths old
They said repeatedly waiting for Audi to come up with an answer.
Anyhow after 2 years, Audi customer service pushed dealer to correct this matter, photos taken and Parts to be ordered.
When parts arrived, dropped car off only to find Carlisle Audi could not weld them on, so another appointment and car Sent to 3rd party workshop, believe local Mercedes!
Livid now.
Picked car up yesterday only to find some one decided not to fit new parts but to set about vandalising my car with a wire brush.

Seriously they decided to attack the inside of the exhaust tips with a wire brush, they finish is diabolical and certainly not as what is to be expected.
Please if those who have had there exhaust tips replaced under warranty please would you get in touch with me.
I have contacted Audi customer service and await response, nobody at dealership could comment as manager had reputedly gone home.
My point the car was designed, intended and presented with Black detail, I aim to seek legal advise regarding g this.
Not sure if the decision was Audi or Dealer or 3rd party workshop believed to be local Mercedes
Your help would be much appreciated.
Regards
Paul

Just to let you know, Audi Carlisle have today replaced both exhaust back boxes complete with tail pipes as a goodwill gesture
Many thanks

At least the ending is happy, even if the journey wasn't.

Glad you got it sorted out in the end man.

On the same subject, earlier model. My B8 is 8 y/o but still in the mid 20ks mileage wise, the Black tips are starting to pit quite noticeably, are they removable as an item or is it a case of pulling the rear section of the system off which would kinda scupper my plans..would hope to have them recoated..

Thanks in advance

Stu

Think it’s a bumper off job, but on the b8 they can be removed/replaced

That's the easy bit, looks as though that those tail trims are bolted to the bumper.. ffs Image

Yes that was me. They still look exactly the same as the day I got them coated, that was June 2018.Image
