Audi Watford Used B9
Re: Audi Watford Used B9
Turning into an Austin Maxi thread. Dad had 4. Learnt to drive in one. Other than new found freedom I don’t have fond memories of them. Couldn’t manage 100 flat out; worst gearbox ever. Super low sump (I cracked one yomping over a hump back bridge). A hand pump for the washers. Amazing how much even basic cars have progressed since I learnt to driveSilverfox42 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 11:11 pmClassic that one Eddie. That block made it into the Marina, but sadly not the Allegro or 1100/1300 GT. Showing my age now. Second car was a G plat (no 1990) MG 1300 GT (Austin 1100 with Mini GT engine and stolen badges).

Re: Audi Watford Used B9
The suspension on my 1300GT (Hydro elastic?) was great when it worked - like an early and primitive DRC!! Sheeeiit when it failed.
I replaced 2 cylinder heads as the car appeared to be overheating - turned out the voltage regulator had fried itself...
More fun than bad - and when the twin carbs were tuned up it felt rapid..

Lots added today. Loads of <beep> colour combos and random prices!
Plus one at £87k!
Plus one at £87k!

'15 B8 RS4 - SOLD
Re: Audi Watford Used B9
The £87K is not even a carbon edition

I expect if you expressed serious interest then that price would come down a lot.
Another is registered 5 days back and it's got 3,000 miles on it (including weekends)

So these are pre regs. Aren't pre reg cars meant to be about £10K cheaper? because your the 2nd owner even if it's only done 10 miles.

Technically they are, but they are also dealer allocated specification cars so have different margins. Dealers had no option to spec their first car, they could pick from colour and from a very limited (possibly 3 or 4) fixed spec options. It was the same with the TTRS when it first launched in 2016.

Re: Audi Watford Used B9
the 3k miles is a standard thing. go look at the milage on all demo cars on the Audi pre-owned. you normally see them marked as somewhere between 1500 and 3000. it enables the dealership to run the cars as demos without worrying about the mileage when it sells.535dboy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 8:58 amAnd possibly used for launch events and therefore ragged hard in those 3k mileskmpowell wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 8:39 amTechnically they are, but they are also dealer allocated specification cars so have different margins. You'll probably also notice that there is an available from date, there's something around dealers holding these cars for 90 days to avoid tax (cant remember exactly, or if this rule still exists) but it looks as if Audi dealerships still roughly follow this...
it still means that any miles on these cars will be hard miles and likely little sympathy for cold starts and run-in periods...personally, I'd avoid...

Re: Audi Watford Used B9
£75k for an RS4, absolutely insane. I could afford one but what a waste of money
When BMW are offering new £75k M3's for £52K.

Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3
Re: Audi Watford Used B9
I think the sales of M's have always been more important to BMW than RS's are to Audi
You should try an M3, the latest M3 handles like it's got crossply tyres on the rear when compared to an RS4

I can tell you BMW interiors are not as good as Audi.
Also the M3 is going out of production in May so prices may fall further.
New model (in 2020) may be 4WD then the game may change.
