Made me just go back and watch the B8 RS4 testing at the ring to compare.

B8 has a much more deeper growl and seems to look more aggressive going into the corners.
Still, looking forward to seeing what the B9 is going look like.

Nothing to do so might have to look for the B7 now :)

UPDATE

The B9 RS5 is now on the configurator to spec. Given the 4 and 5 share pretty much the exact same option sheet, this should give us a 99% idea about what the RS4 will have.

There's no 'sports pack', and there's some big prices on popular items that I was expecting to be 'packed' or standard. £950 for carbon inlays, £850 for matrix headlights, £3250 for a carbon roof, £2k for a wheel upgrade, £2k for DRC, £1200 for a sports exhaust.

Bottom line, it's going to be fooking expensive(!) once you've added a few options. Sanoma green looks interesting though...!

Just been on the Audi configurator
Added most of the stuff whats on my RS4 and the RS5 came out at least 10k more expensive!
Makes some of the options that were available on the B8 look like bargains.

Nardo looks the best on it with the carbon grill, mirrors and diffuser IMO
and you've got to have big balls to order the Sanoma Green!
Good looking car but for 85 grand with the options id want, too rich for me.

Maybe in time Audi will start to include more into packs instead of having to add each item separately.

Hopefully when the B9 RS4 comes out they will have a nice Audi contribution again.
For the meantime I'm quite happy with my B8, 2 and half years on.

Ditto. I'm very conservative when it comes to options, but even with the basics (wheels, zorst, suspension, privacy, stereo, paint, styling pack, ACC, etc) I hit £10.5k without even trying.

It's the same with the SQ7, by the time I'd specced normal things and/or things only available in a pack (ACC for example), it was £15k of options without trying. At those prices it took me into RRS territory.

I looked at one when they came up on the German configurator and I think base price was about 70k and it didn't even include sat nav! WTF!

That's crazy isn't it. You may as well throw the extra 5/ 10k into the pot and buy a 12 month old R8 from Audi. Would have way way better residuals over 3 years etc

Legend! Man maths at its best.

(or alternatively hunt down one of the very last old shape 550bhp Plus models, no cost option buckets, with a handful of manual gearbox cars sold if that's your thing, see thread near the top of the R8 section)

Just did a uk one. Exactly like mine, grey, pano roof, memory, heated seats, black pack, camera, none of the new tech, carbon, ceramics etc. 16k in options to make it a B8 and coming in at 79k. Stupid for a car that will be less fun to drive. I bet the 4 is more than the 5 too
