Adult Humour, Yes or No

Adult Humour. Is rs246.com enhanced by having adult humour on the site? This is not porn but rather (and I quote) "odd ribald joke, weird and wonderful story, and have a good old piss-take between consenting members". This humour/piss-taking will include (but is not limited by) homosexual, S&M and general sexual references with the piss-taking including long threads of a sexual banter nature. This humour is closely akin schoolboy humour but is more graphic and is done by adults, hence adult humour. Has been called Toilet Humour previously
This poll is not about freedom of speech, if this humour is funny or not or any other reason to have it published on this site but rather if it enhances the site for the majority of users.

I voted "Don't Care" - I mean, I don't care as long as it is in one place and it doesn't detract from the quality of the rest of the site and it falls within the
usage terms of the site.
Basic fact is that some people want it, and others do not. Solution (IMHO) is to have a seperate section for it, with the understanding that an effort will be made to keep it off the rest of the site.

I, obviously, don't agree. I see no place for this type of humour on a car interest site either in the general sections or in a seperate section. If Audi UK (for instance) where looking to support RS246.COM in some future endeavour (RS246 Live maybe) would the use of this type of humour enhance the possiblility or reduce it?

Way to go jeff! And thanks for quoting me, I feel honoured.
I've seen the light now - and I agree with you: There's no place whatsoever for humour on this web-site, thank you for demonstrating that so succinctly.
I think the site would benefit from your wisdom and leadership - and as such I would like to register my proposal for your elevation to Crew status.
In a similar vein to your idea about the OT section being re-named as "HELL" and populated by "S4TANs Disciples" (nice idea by the way - I was flattered) I propose OT be re-named "MARS" (as in the dry, arid, dead planet), with contibutors known as "Jeff's Zombies" - all posted material to be rigorously scrutinised for any trace of humour, piss-take, fun and sexual content by you and immediately removed.
P.S. I was the one who voted yes by the way.

Wow...I missed that first time round. Do you think you could put in a good word Julian ? I'd be your friend forever if you could

Sure thing Jeff - I give up now anyway. Can I change my vote to 'don't care' please?

Sure...hopefully in a non-humorous way

Humour makes this a more friendly and inviting web site and fail to see why the OT section can't be used as such. If you want a separate section for "adult"? humour in the interests of protecting the innocent then I would agree with you. There is no reason why the site can't be fun as well as informational/helpful.
As for "adult" humour, why not just have an optional humour forum and keep it within the bounds of the terms and conditions (as you quote above Jeff). This could then be used to separate jokes (etc) from the other OT content. BTW, who would determine what is adult and what is not, don't the mods have enough to do?
Just my 2p of course.

I'm sure the mods have more than enough to do without this. The serious point I was trying to raise was that the humour that is proposed for the seperate section (which has already been clamped down on on OT) is in breach of the existing T&Cs and is unneccessary on a car interest website.

But of course! I've just booked myself into hospital to have the humour-removal op - Nurse Ratchett said I will be fixed within days.

Strangley my wife was taken into Hospital by ambulance yesterday. Nothing to do with humour removal however.
