Is there any way we can actually prevent non S or RS owners from using this forum at all?

The knowledge that any old 2.0 FSI owner (or god forbid BMW driver) can actually have access to the opinions and valuable personal experiences alluded to on here by my fellow co-members actually turns my stomach, not to mention being grossly unfair to boot. I'd rather cross the street than talk to this riff-raff in the real world. I mean, I pay good money to drag myself above the hoi polloi by investing in (what some may see as) shallow and materialistic exuberances such as high end German automotive engineering. I however find this investment to be an extremely effective way of perpetuating the "them and us" culture that has permeated the very fabric of our English culture. The hallowed and exclusive ground that I crave so much has in essence been turned into an easy access level playing field through the free for all medium of t'internet.

Damn and blast it.

My guess is that it is our dear friend Harry. We never banned you Harry, so I wonder why you feel the need to return under an alias.

Have fun,

Sounds like a wind up to me! Plus, how about the people who have owned and have experience/advise to offer, but have 'moved' on, eg JR.

I joined here before owning my S4 because I wanted to find out info about the cars before choosing what I wanted. These forums are pretty clean and its members well behaved. There is no need to block people.

In 99% of the usage, I would say that is a fair comment, the missing 1% is made up of people who find it amusing to post up rubbish to get a reaction. What has always been a bonus with the users of this forum, is that they will shoot down most trouble makers in quick time.......... any that are missed are picked up by the crew and deleted with a warning PM to go with it...
We have banned users in the past, when their conduct becomes too much, but we do try to avoid that if possible..... and for the record, the variation of owners, their wealth, background and knowledge is a wide pot, and I have not met one yet who looks down or who feels they are excluded from anything because they dont own a top of the range whatever.....

As zerok66 says the forum needs to be open in order to allow non S/RS owners to gain sufficient knowledge to enable them to make the correct decision (that being to ditch the beemer and get a proper car!).

It's a friendly and open forum and very welcoming....just like the S and RS owners behind it and those that use it.
