John
Thank you for your comment,

1. The set of front and rear RS4 brakes are from my own car, I am selling it and wish to pass on the parts I have removed to members of this forum, should they wish. They were indeed purchased from a moderator of this forum via a thread on this web site.

2. I have contacted PhilT some time ago offering a payment towards the forum running costs, by way of a yearly donation

"After chatting to ****** last night, he kindly advised me of your concerns with the 246 web site. I now understand the forums reasons for the no trade policy.
With this in mind I would offer a yearly payment of £100 towards the running cost of the site. I do not wish to take a advert similar to MRC, Star, etc. In return if agreeable my "profile" would indicate that I am a sponsor.
If this is OK could you let me know who and where to make the payment to. I will be up at Castle Combe with the quattro oc on Saturday, perhaps give it to Simon?
As a further point is the RS246 a constituted club? Does it have public liability insurance? RACMSA affiliated? Somthing to consider to protect the individuals who give up their time to run the site.
Kind regs
Philip "

To date I have not had a reply.

3. I wish to pass on to the members of this foum my advice and info I pick up when working on these cars. If, as I often do I will respond to technical PMs e-mails etc from members of this forum taking up a lot of my time. This will give members advice and cost savings when running their cars.

4. Since previous e-mails I have generally respected the wishes of yourself and PhilT and have restricted my posts to advice etc. However I am selling my S4 and all the "bits" will be removed, in a similar manner to yourself when you sold your RS. I was hoping to pass some of the items on to the RS246 members first before the likes of the many other Audi forums or ebay get them.

I would imagine a small donation to help with the running costs of this and any forum would be heartily accepted by the mods. However this should be gratuitous and not be a requirement of being given special status - particularly if you are regularly using the forum for commerce.

Just my view ;)

Just to add my two pence worth........... with all respect there is a substantial difference here, A) John almost single handly financially supports the forum, B) He does not make a living selling car parts or servicesc) You have totally ignored repeated requests to srtop selling goods via RS246, I have deleted at least three posts this weeks with goods for sale with your name on the bottom.
If you are not prepared to abide by the rules, and pay the going rate rather than'offering' what you want, you and your advice will not be welcome here.. Play by the rules, or the rules will be implemented... Simple............ and thats not my state of mind

Would like to thank Philipwalker for putting me in touch with someone with the parts I required  IMO any knowledge gained on this forum "regardless of who from" is of benefit to all users!

Yep, for what it's worth, I agree too.

Philip has helped me by answering questions on and off the forum over the last few years and IMO is an asset to the site.

That said, rules is rules and to minimise the hassle, it needs to be the same for everyone. The site has to be funded from somewhere.

As far as advertising for commercial profit or personal gain beyond the norm is concerned, there is currently one rule for all. The reason we are not willing to applied varied rules are down to cost of implementation.... Like many of you we use the forum as a community too!! Therefore all the hassle of different packages for different people just doesn't appeal to us. Keep it simple:

"Advertise as a sponsor, or don't advertise at all."

Just so that everyone is aware, here are the extortionate (not!) rates we are charging:

50,000 impressions of up to 2 Banner Adverts = £75.00
100,000 impressions of up to 3 Banner Adverts = £100.00
250,000 impressions of up to 4 Banner Adverts = £200.00

PhilT

You do not wish to take up the offer of my £100 per year donation towards the running of the web site?

There may be other users or RS246 who do not wish to advertise directly but would be happy to contribute to the running of the forum in this way, a funding avenue worth looking at maybe?

My post was not a direct advert as suggested in the revised title of the thread. It was to help out a member of this forum who required some parts for his car.

Nope, as the only options are:

50,000 impressions of up to 2 Banner Adverts = £75.00
100,000 impressions of up to 3 Banner Adverts = £100.00
250,000 impressions of up to 4 Banner Adverts = £200.00

I am sure a donation would be easier to accomodate however I wish to take the middle option priced at £100

I would require some info and stats on the traffic/hits of the web site please. Could you also kindly give me some indication how long the middle option of advertising would last.

Finally could you forward a pro-forma invoice to my company address as below.
