Homepage done ... here you go!

Sorry I couldn't do more, like including all the content from the current homepage, but here's the new design in working order:
http://www.sigfactory.com/rs246/index.html
Also note that I don't do PHP ... so I'll leave it to whoever did the site thus far to integrate the new setup.
BUSHY -- I've moved all the files to your ECC server under a new folder RS246. It's exactly as seen at the URL above, but loaded for your direct access.
Cheers

No problem with "stealing" the image ... that's what I put it out there fore. But why not use the entire homepage as I set it up, just appending the articles section below it? The design was done to replace the existing theme, including navigation and such. I thought it would basically look like my sample page but with the News/Articles below [the main graphic and welcome message].

Unfortunately we are stuck with the constraints of the PostNuke software and my knowledge.... This was the easiest way to make the homepage a bit more 'funky'. I think it works....

I hate pop-ups, especially when uncapped.
When displaying dozens of flashy links and sex ads, it only make it worse.
And I usually flee the site that welcomes me like that.
Are they really needed ?

Yeah I hate popups too, but it's what we need to get the site noticed. I agree with you that some of the images that are used are a little work unfriendly.... Maybe a rethink is in order or you better start clicking this link in you spare time.....

<<I hate pop-ups, especially when uncapped. >>
OK, I've been a bit harsh on the capped ones
I find capped pop-ups (like appear once a month, or for newbies only) can be useful to present a new site's service to all users (or the best/most popular one).
So a second use could be to "pop-up" the Forum home page to visitors coming on the RS246 Home Page. Or best a "pop-under" one (appears beneath the main navigator page, doesn't require immediate action from visitor, less intrusive thus less likely to be immediatly closed).
Didn't say though that 2 simultaneous pop-ups is a good idea

What is PostNuke software? The mockup I provided had all necessary formatting, code, directory setup, images, etc. ... all that need be done is appending the Articles/News.
I'll help any way I can and my goal was to give you guys a clean, professional looking homepage with a nice, concise design.

But you wouldn't want me as a real-life customer, I'm one of these real pain in the arse who always want more than the others for less than the others...

Fantastic picture isn't it - I've definitely got the RS bug! And don't you just love that RS2. Now I'm going to get distracted and spend all day gazing out of the window at mine rather than working.

Can we get a higher res version of the homepage pic (the one with the RS2,4, & 6)?
It would make for a great PC desktop/wallpaper
cheers,
Andy
