Outages and Forum Software Upgrade - 5th June 2020
Sorry for the outages today. An operating system upgrade caused a bunch of components to get upgraded which mean I needed to do an emergency upgrade of the forum software...
One bit of good news is that it's a step closer to enabling membership and disabling adverts.
Please report any bugs below.
Thanks,
Phil.

First bug is the "Board index < < <" in the top right hand corner is broken when you navigate into sub forums. The forum names don't appear.

Sounds promising.
I’m getting this message whilst trying to move around the site. I don’t know what it means nor work out a pattern when it happens but I do seem to be able to work around it.

That was what was happening half way through the upgrade. Let me know if it continues and maybe which page you're on.

I think it was a cached page. I had it earlier but it worked fine once I cleared the cache. Let me know if you see it again please

Re: Outages and Forum Software Upgrade - 5th June 2020
Still there when I press Board Index. I’m one of the least capable people on the planet when it comes to tech, have I got to “clear a cache”? What’s a cache?
Re: Outages and Forum Software Upgrade - 5th June 2020
It's a saved copy of the page on your device or a proxy server in the chain between your device and the website. Caching is designed to improve speed but also means you may not always get the latest version of the page/content. In time the cache should refresh and you will have a newer version of the content.ChrisA wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 9:40 amStill there when I press Board Index. That might as well have been written in Chinese for me. Thankfully I gave my phone to a mate who new what you were talking about and now it’s working fine. Thanks Phil.PhilT wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 9:54 amIt's a saved copy of the page on your device or a proxy server in the chain between your device and the website. Re: Outages and Forum Software Upgrade - 5th June 2020
The Board index bread crumb at the top is the only thing I've noticed as being broken.
Re: Outages and Forum Software Upgrade - 5th June 2020
I had a try at fixing it this morning but it wasn't as simple as I had hoped. More work required
