Slow TLS handshake or something

Post by Shoppinit » Sun Dec 10, 2017 11:42 am

...which is causing my browsers to timeout occasionally. Generally the first time I visit the site. Also happens when I try to post. Although it can be lightning quick.

Is there a current issue?

Happens on my PC and iPhone.

Hmmm. Do you know how to generate a HAR file?

Yup, I'll have a go. It's unpredictable though.

I had a little look and the only "problem" I see is First Byte Time which is a little high but normal on a site that uses compression.

Server looks healthy too.

Maybe try a different browser for a few days? i.e. Chrome not Firefox.

Like I said, it does it both on Safari and FF. Could be my ISP, but I only noticed the problem on RS246. I will get as much info as poss and let you know.

Got a HAR file for you. Where do you want it?

Fixed by changing DNS servers to primary = 9.9.9.9 and secondary = 8.8.8.8

Hmm, it's started doing it again despite the new DNS servers. Both on iPhone and FF. I'll try to get a HAR file again, but I suspect it's the same as previous. Only does it on RS246.com as far as I can tell. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know.
