RS246 on Social Networks

Post by PhilT » Mon Nov 28, 2016 6:33 pm

Ok, so we have this new thing called DriveTribe.... Personally I think it's a load of tosh but I did say that about Facebook, Twitter, <insert_social_network_here>....

RS246's value for the community comes from the information in the site and the ability to search for previous posts and create new ones. Whilst we have an RS246 Twitter account and Facebook Page, they are setup in a way that the true value of the RS246 content remains remains focused within our website. In addition to keeping the value in one place, I think there's also the added benefit that RS246 doesn't require you to sign up to the ever growing mass of social networks; RS246 is the one stop Shop for all things Audi R, S, RS related.

So, do you feel that RS246 needs to have a (maintained) presence on these social networks or are we happy as things are?

Personally I find the website, forum and the Facebook Page sufficient for our needs and plenty enough to keep me busy in my spare time :beerchug:

I don't think we need any more ways to complicate communication. I'm sure Steve from the RS3 owners club will be along here shortly to mention about the how someone recently started an unofficial Whatapps group and some of the discussions were happening on the whatsapp group that not everyone was a party to, so the forum missed bits of info and was not there to be searched afterwards.
I will hashtag #RS246 on my Instagram posts from now on like Faisal already does. If anyone feels inclined to start an official Instagram page that would be ok as it is really just a way of easily posting pictures and spreading the love but not distracting from the main forum. And requires no upkeep, just post photo when you like and we can all tag it in our posts.

I like the #RS246 on Instagram idea, it's a good way to keep updated on fellow forum members pics as and when they put them up. I'll start adding #RS246 to my pics too.

No thanks, seen far too many forums try diversify and then die because of that silly mistake. Social media has no substance and given time, the movement 'trend' will reverse.

This thread is almost pure curmudgeon, I've never felt so warm and fuzzy.
