To see how this forum would look & feel using the new mobile friendly version of PHPBB (what this forum runs), have a look here...

http://www.babybmw.net

Personally I hope this is the way you go Phil. Same as we have now, but on the latest version so it fits mobiles properly.

I have to say I prefer tapatalk for mobile use. It saves having to plumb password in every time I use it on the browser as I don't retain cookies.

However given that someone's time goes into making this forum happen I'll take whatever the solution is.

All great feedback.

So:
- KISS - Keep phpBB but upgrade (I really wanted to skip 3.1).
- Keep Tapatalk because it makes it easy to use on mobiles (even though we hate it)
- Oh, and I learnt what SEOT is

The Gallery here is an upgrade PITA. How about we dump it and have a forum section just for people's pics (i.e. One thread per user)?

Agreed, no need for gallery.

Seconded. Plenty of places to lob photos on T'internet.

Perhaps a thread for bam's NSFW content, though I did like his sample forum.

Would the removing the gallery section, lose all the pictures uploaded for the DIY threads in the FAQ's? If it doesn't, get it gone.

I'm happy with the forum software and never felt it lacked anything compared with other forums I use. The only improvement I'd like is the ability to post bigger pictures, as it's a real PITA having to re-size everything down to 1028px width to fit the layout.

The Tapatalk footer added to every post is also really annoying.

I've never had to resize photos, you just post them and the site resizes for you.

Really? I always posted a picture and it'd have bits chopped off. Let me try one.

Ah...when you go to preview your post it chops the image off.

Carry on and post it and the image gets re-sized (I never went this far).

Thanks Bam, everyday is a school day

I don't think you had anything to show us Bam.
