The time has come to do an upgrade to the forum. This upgrade will deliver a better mobile browser experience.

It is a fairly significant task, so I'm giving you early warning. If you think thou can help in any way, then please subscribe to this topic (viewtopic.php?t=116218&watch=topic) and I will update as items arise.

The key challenges will be:
- Deprecating the gallery
- phpBB Custom mods
- phpBB theme conversion/rewrite (Needs to match the main site)
- User testing to see if anything was missed

We will be testing the upgrade at http://testforum.rs246.com/, however any posts/etc there will be lost.

The gallery will be removed

2015 - 109 images
2014 - 176 images
2013 - 166 images
2012 - 253 images
2011 - 920 images
Grand Total - 1624 images

The use is pretty minimal. We could find a replacement but that means integrating the software and migrating the images. I'm open to suggestions but right now, the plan is to get rid of it.

Never did use it even when we built the site back in 2002!! HOWEVER buddy, there are some eclectic classical images in there; how do you reckon we choose and save those? categorise? meta tag? ouch nightmare. Would be a shame to lose them. Happy to help you go through them; can we get them to a fileshare?

But I agree the stats show steady decline; get rid.

EDIT: Phil could it be as easy as going through them and then setting up a linked Facebook group; and upload them into that? or any of the other usual suspects.

Get rid...as long as it doesn't effect uploaded attachments to forum posts.

What about dumping them all somewhere accessible so that they can at least be retreived and uploaded to an image sharing platform by interested parties?

http://testforum.rs246.com/upgraded/ is a snapshot of the live site (Can't share the same database). Posts in the test site will not be merged back, they will be overwritten.

Fixed how it renders on a mobile. Happy days . Still need to get rid of the border at the top but can't seem to hunt where that is set.
