resizing on the forum

Post by adsgreen » Sun May 25, 2014 5:19 pm

Does anybody else have the issue where as the page for the forum is downloading the area where the Facebook sign up finally ends up goes through a massive resizing process??
I find it really annoying as it usually happens just after I've spotted the link I want so it causes everything to get knocked out and I end up going to a random other Li know.

Happens to me all the time when I'm on mobile devices! Really annoying! I thought about starting a thread about it a while ago but thought it must have already been discussed before.

Is it the Facebook part or the ads?

I don't get Facebook come up on mine. I'm guessing he means the advert at the top (that advertises recently viewed websites). It's not an RS246 problem. I have the same on other forums.

Sounds like another possibility to have a "premium membership" with no ads and other benefits. Would it fly though?

I get this re-size/jump and page adjust.

It is the Facebook like 'iframe widget'.

It may be connected to the 'span' tag around the iframe if it's not in CSS - Facebook CSS is meant to overwrite this but clearly doesn't. The 'like' button is loading an iframe to the page, which is too large for the desired viewport.

This may shed light on the code tweak, if it's possible to do this:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2153 ... en-loading

I'm way too hasty, press what I think is the correct part of the touch screen only to find the page has 'jumped' and I'm on a different part of the forum.

This is true due to the 'viewport' meta tag trying to control the mobile content re-size and layout...

Looking at the code it may all be FB server side??? :(

Maybe I'll give that a try. I've avoided it for months but I don't know why.

With responses like that you're putting yourself in a position to fix it :)

Tapatalk will call the viewport tag also. The browser doesn't require the viewport tag as it's just that - a browser on a pixel based screen.

it's not easy to see the code client side - let me see how it's handled and see if a potential fix around the iframe tag would work...
