dave, you may have give me a kick up the jacks about my inappropiate posts at times, but i find all your posts informative or a positive read and this forum would not be the same without you..i know were you are comming from and even though the likes of bling bling, russian m3,sims, etc... frustrate people..i think we are all funnily enough trying to row in the same direction..at the end of the day some topics are going to cause more diverse and frustrating opinions than others, which in hindsight is a good thing as it would become a bit mundain.. dont let it get you down

I'm with you Dave, and have expressed the same to the site owners when things started getting out of hand

This used to be a forum for like-minded people who enjoyed a healthy debate. I used to help a bit (and ask a bit more...) but always felt nothing but good things about my car & the other drivers

Given the general tone over the last few months, I'm surprised my car even starts in the morning

and that is what bothers me...

if not for the internet, and all the garbage that can be passed on as 'fact', would anyone give a dman about deposits until they really noticed something wrong?

it's like some are so miserable about their cars, well, you know the saying...'misery loves company'

we can't do anything about it:
it's not blow-by, I'm 100% convinced of that...
it comes back after 2k miles

what are we to do?
cleaned the valves every 1k miles?
sue Audi, pressure them into what?
who's got the fix?

me, I'm going to enjoy my car for what it is, warts and all,lol

I hope you do not leave the forum Dave as has been said you have been here a long time run your car for equal time and can comment on the your experiances on it based on fact not what may or may not happen. We do live in a society that has free speech and therefore at times have to put up with name calling but always remember "sticks & stones may break my bones but calling never hurt me" Hope to see you keep posting.I read these post, get stressed at running a small business get into my car and it all floats away. Happy Easter to ALL who post on this forum and may we enjoy our cars warts and all.

I think respect for forums has gone down the toilet. People see them as way of getting away with being rude to other people and their opinions.

If a forum, whatever the topic, was a true depiction of society we'd be fooked as we's all be trying to kill each other.

I am the member of a watch-related forum and some of the BS which is handed out to people who don't know the etiquette is pretty disgusting.

I think the forum has evolved.......badly.

Road rage is a good example....do we do swear, give the finger, the w$nker sign and get really agressive when we walk down the street?...no we don't as that is deemed unacceptable.

No "one" has got my goat, I just don't like the aggression and unwillingness to consider alternative viewpoints that has become the norm.

I'm a thick skinned "grey beard" Chartered Engineer, but you eventually get to the point of thinking "why am I bothering?".

Hopefully highlighting my concerns will have a positive effect, I'm heartened to see the generally positive response.

I'm fairly new to the forum and it would be a shame to see you long standing members disappear because of a few knob heads. I for one and I am sure there are many others respect your opinions and am interested to hear your advice based on your own experience.

You're all wrong and I'm right

Just kidding lads and ladettes

I have now sold my RS4 but found this forum ok. Most forums have the usual faceless bullies who lack intellect or respect for others but I must say that I have found most to be ok. There are some who are obsessed with certain issues, such as power output, but that's their right.

I have always just tried to enjoy my cars and help where i feel I can.

Don't leave or "they" win 8)

PetrolDave,

If you leave this forum, which i very much hope you don't, please PM me where you're going as i don't want to lose your invaluable factual knowledge on the RS4.

I've got to admit i can't understand how posts on "How much bhp do our cars really have?" et. etc can run into several pages !!!

It's not just the power of your car, it's the skills of the driver.

As i've mentioned before I LOVE my RS4 in standard form it's still under warranty but i'm not going to spend £1000s to extract a few

more bhp. And if anyone wants to tell me i'm mad, carry on, i'm willing to listen to all the arguments but i'm not going to enter into a

slanging match, i've much more important things to do with my time

I have noticed lately there's a LOT LESS new posts on here on a daily basis than there used to be !!

Unless people can display common courtesy, respect for others opinions and a willingness to develop their own opinions by learning from others I'm afraid I don't attach much credance to much they post anyway...no matter how much they repeat or shout it!

I've found no other place for technical information and mechanical experience of the B7 RS4 and there is a core of folks on here that contribute their knowledge regularly and clearly which makes it an invaluable place for me to visit and learn. Long may it continue.

Great suggestion

... also Dom81 & experts on the B5 & the C5/6

Not all these people will want to take on the task, so if we have a few names put forward that at least gets the process going,I hope .. :)
