I think Scotty and Confusionhunter wrap it up nicely between them.

Just to keep this going but on a reasonable basis, why would you need an elected crew? There is no status or position of power attached to the title
and no reason to need any more crew. Mark was included due to his ability to help in the backroom computer end of things, and his constant input on S forums, and we believe is a level headed and decent bloke. Andiroo is old school and was a moderator years ago but due to work demands, gave it up for a while. As far as I am aware, the only time you elect officers is in a club setting, it may have escaped your notice but there are no such conditions attached to this forum.

Simon,

No one is arguing with you about recent crew being appointed.

Neither are they moaning about the way the site is run. It was just an idea to help inject some fresh people who want to be more of a part of the system and add to the mix.

Cheers

Isn't it mainly a moderating role? I'm sure that there's key tasks on the sponsorship / finance / technical side, but I've always assumed that these were all carried out in one location. What could anyone bring to the forum as a "distant" Crew member that they can't already do as a regular member?

This isn't a comment on the idea itself, just trying to understand how it operates at the moment...

Not sure what to say on this one guys - keep it a small crew and you get canned for being 'elitist' - create a larger crew and nothing get's done because no-one can agree on the colour of <beep> - buggered if we do buggered if we don't

Although, thanks for the posted words of support for how it's currently run

Cheers,

Andiroo

Clarkson's manifesto for PM in the Daily Mail today - hilarious!

Includes "Encourage Global Warming", "Abolish cricket", "Remove speed cameras", and "End the Special Relationship". oh, and Hammond will be Transport Minister...

(I hasten to add that I do not normally read the Mail - it was just lying around in the airport lounge...)

Now I've read the article, it's actually about him not by him - still funny though, and some of the expressions sound just like they've come straight out of his mouth...
