Has certainly grown to the point where it really needs to be looked after...... cant really be left to run on its own for previously stated reasons. As we all have more than full time jobs, it is impossible for one person to dedicate the time required to do what's needed... hence why we all do a bit.

The Google Ads represent a good oportunity for revenue which does not require any effort what so ever. Gettting site sponsors to part with a couple of hundred quid for what is basically 6 months advertising is extremely difficult and time consuming. If Google Ads bring in a reasonable amount of money, then why not use them... They seem relatively unintrusive, and sometimes quite relevant (Will work on when they are not).

At the end of the day, it could amount to about $3000 per year, and if it sux then we get rid of them

One thing I've noticed since Google ads have been on is that after a few minutes of browsing all my unread topics seem to get changed to read. Not very helpful! is there a way to stop this happening?

Thanks Mark. Not completely associated, but there will be some 'service disruptions' as I try to fix this unread posts thing.

I moved the ads to the right hand column, which means that they aren't displayed at the same time as the forum.

They're still on the front page, for those that fancy investigating the links they offer :)

I'd just like to say thanks to all involved for the site.
It must take up alot of time to keep us all entertained. I get enough grief from the wife just having a quick browse!!

Onwards and upwards!!
Tomorrow is another day

I think the new ads and google integration is quite cool and unintrusive.... Anybody agree? The Google search seems a lot better than the standard one?
