Re: Homepage initial concept [pic] ...
Rob,
thanks for all the effort you have put in to the front page, i have some small but worthwhile critisms.
Personally i agree with what Phil and Bushy are saying, firstly that its is eveident that we have a big "S" community evolving and not wanting to push there noses out, it would be great to see some inclusion of the "S" models in the frame
I like the fresh and clean layout... it has an immediacy about it
Perhaps the logo can be put on each of those cars
Just a thought
Its loadability must be quick as we do have a lot of dialers, so somthing i know youre good at Rob is squeezing as much into a small space as possible.
Cheers

what about the RS246 cars across the top
then can rob photoshop a similar picture of S3, 4, 6, 8? to go across the bottom, or the other way around
not too bothered
just a thought
imags can be smaller then as you dont need one image to fill the whole page?

jr, Bushy and Phil ...
Your comments are valid and feedback well taken. However, I don't think it necessary to include *every* model intended on the site ... it's almost overkill if you ask me.
The main graphic on the homepage is simply meant as a visual representation of the name, something that's bold and stays with the viewer; it is NOT intended to be all-inclusive (nor exclusionary).
Nor do I think an 'S' owner (or any Audi enthusiast) who visits RS246.com will feel less welcome by whatever graphic greets them, certainly not over the domain name itself.
Perhaps that's the point; "RS246.com" might seem inherently intended only for RS models so including 'S' models in an image would extinguish the notion. And to that I would suggest a site tag line, such as the "celebrating Audi's top performance S & RS models" could do more than what cars appear.
Finally, consider just about any auto enthusiast site, especially those intended for a number of makes (think Import Scene). Their primary graphic (on top of which sits the site name/logo) is often of a single, standout car ... not every make and model invited to participate.
This is in no way a derogatory or inflamatory response, just want to ensure the design isn't unecessarily busy. <flame suit on just in case>
Oh, and I quite like this little guy ----->

For what it's worth Rob, I totally agree with you on all points - it's a visual representation of RS246.com and it looks just the job
