H&R coilovers and anti-roll bars - Group purchase

Post by Desmo » Sun Aug 21, 2005 2:38 pm

Guys

Have just picked up this thread as my standard RS4 shocks have loss the will to live at 50k. Having met and got a ride in a German RS4 (in London) this weekend with 530bhp and KW setup, I realise how far gone mine has gone into the bouncy castle territory. Is is too late to join the group purchase for a set of RS4 coilovers at the £555 price? If not I'll send a cheque if someone can tell me where.

Cheers

As noted in my post last week, I've had a few discussions with John, the supplier, and he has confirmed that he is waiting to receive the units from H&R in Germany.

I've also received a receipt.

The numbers ordered have exceeded expectations, and i believe that the group buy is now at 11 sets for the S4. H&R are building all of these up, and will be sending out in a single shipment.

A few of the RS4 boys have already received their orders though.

On the two occassions that I've left a message, John has returned the calls.

All I can say is that the above is my experience to date.

Regards,

RSDreamer.

I've received a receipt but I'm still waiting for the RS4 Coilovers and ARBs. John did say originally that it may take a while as they have to make them so no need to worry guys I'm sure!

Picked up my RS4 coilovers afew weeks ago. No problems with the kit, but DO NOT get them fitted at Elite!!

After picking up the coilovers from John, i drove down to Elite and arrived at 1 O'clock 'ish. 'Take a seat for a few hours' the guy said, so when 6 o'clock rolled around i was suprised that they had only just finished the rears!! Anyway, they close at six, but carried on working till about 8!!! Then I think they gave up and told me it will have to stay with them until tommorrow!

So i had no other option but to get a train home from Rainham to Slough (a 2 hour trip) then the next day get a train back in (another 2 hours waisted!).

So my advise is to get the coilovers fitted at a specialist or a garage that has done the job before, it might cost a little more, but will save you time and stress in the long run...

Jesus, S4/RS4 shocks can be swapped in around 1h30 mins if you know how to do it and without pulling the tie rod ends and link ends....

That sounds scary to me!!!

Does anyone have advice on where is a good place to get them fitted then?! I'm based around reading but can go up oxfordshire way, or south, east or west if needed, as long as it's not too far!!

Not yet. Will give them a shout. Are they fairly well rated for setting up suspension?

Just spoke to John who is still having trouble registering onto the forum(activation code required). He has asked If there is any chance of obtaining one to enable him to post updates on orders ?

There is always the 'Problems logging in or registering?' board with guest posting enabled. He could post some updates there. I know it's not exactly what it was designed for, but if he can't post here then there is better than nowhere.
