SQ7

Post by Zeebuilder » Mon Nov 21, 2016 10:28 pm

Now lived with the RS6 for 18 months now. Without doubt the best car I've had.

One problem is the 3 kids in the back! Ages 5,3&2. Non stop fighting

Got an afternoon test drive with the SQ7 tomorrow. Has anyone else thought about the move or anyone had a test drive.

Had a good look around it at Goodwood and reviews are good so will be interested to see what you think.

Not very sporty cost and mega depreciation are the big killers.

And the goping grill. XC90 polestar?

I think this one, admittedly without grill shot, looks the nuts.

Filthy diesel too which, as we see with the Le Mans exit, is bad news.

First (S)Q7 I have seen that looks decent! Black on Black is the way to go. I find that the Q7 is very colour sensitive, one can really ruin teh cars looks by choosing the wrong colour.
The RS6 is not so sensitive, it can easily pull off much bolder colours than the Q7.

Hope the test drive goes okay. I can imagine that the RS6 is a little bit cramped with 3 kids.

This is what you need to do. It'll solve your problem, and you can keep the RS6!

Have to say!! I'm gonna let the kids fight as much as they like and enjoy them fighting as much as I enjoy the RS6.

Very underwhelming is the SQ7. Big bus with 400 odd break does not come close to the RS6 is any shape or form.

A lot of turbo lag from the Diesel engine and very heavy steering when in dynamic.

Obviously lots more room but for now I'll put up with the kids fighting.

I just looks total <beep> the SQ7. Hope they don't give that gawping grille to the new RS6!

I fit 3 proper adults in the back of the RS6 anyway, so don't really see the problem.

Lots of chat in this thread when it was first announced right through to order opening...

In my opinion it can be summed up by two things:

1. Absolutely horrendous standard specification, meaning to get one with a half decent spec you need the thick end of £10k on top of the £71k starting price.
2. Even more horrendous predicted depreciation, quite frightening!

That stopped me buying, and going for something else in the end.

We have gone with a standard q7 (arrives end of Jan) to compliment the RS6 - 3 kids and no the rs6 is not big enough plus they can make a mess of the Q7 rather than my RS6 !

I couldn't quite stretch to an SVR, but in the end a V6 RRS in Autobiography Dynamic spec was too much of a compelling package for me to turn down. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago...
