Any B8 S4/5 owners driven a B9 S4/5 yet?

Post by GrahamS4 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:22 am

Any first hand experience comparing the drive of the B8 S4/5 to the B9 S4/5 amongst the forum yet?

Interested in any real world (opposed to motoring journos) first impressions, particularly of the new engine and gearbox.

I had the S4 saloon for today. I've got to say it's a well put together package IMO. The chassis feels very well balanced indeed. I pushed it pretty hard around a few roundabouts that I know would cause a bit of a fight with understeer and the S4 was very planted and didn't understeer at all. I was well impressed and can't decide whether I'm gonna order a S4 saloon or S5 Sportback.

I've done 2.0d's back to back for 500 miles (b8) and over 1000 in the B9. Personally I felt the B9 was a little disappointing. Standard seats were better in B9 and the rear compartment cover on Avant’s was much better thought out. Other than that, I felt the materials were a step backwards in the B9 and the cabin not as solid.
