My 2015 Sepang Blue RS4

Hello,
Thought I'd start a build thread to share what I'm up to with the car. Owned since last summer, just shy of 70k miles now.

Relatively stressful free motoring since...
It completely lost it's marbles late last year with a bad wheel speed sensor. Unreal amount of failures on the dashboard!
It's had new rear tyres and I replaced gear selector indicator which had a bad scratch on it.
Polished the wheels and restored wheel bolt covers.
Rear wiper arm frozen to glass, snapped and replaced.
Fuel flap actuator and new rear discs + pads here to be fitted soon. Also a replacement rear RS decal which was missing!
Investigating suspension replacement options!

Here it is with his little mate, my highly modified MK4 golf

Rear discs and pads turned up. Will be fitting them soon.
Took it in for diagnostic of a bit of noise from the front end.... Nothing obvious, but both front tyres split and separating on inner walls. Pirelli Pzero, 2-3 years old?

Bit more cleaning. Decontamination, light polish and wax on this corner.

Cleaned and a bit more polishing to nsr quarter.

Paid my Audi tax and changed the inoperable fuel flap lock (wasn't locking/ unlocking). It was showing as a ground fault when scanned, fingers crossed it wasn't a wiring failt...
The removal and replacement wasn't as bad as I thought. The plastic cover wasn't coming out without a fight. Really didn't want to puncture the cover, but had to in the end. Limited it to top left with a thin flat blade screwdriver to release that clip and it popped out. The swap was easy and remembered to test it before refitting everything! I'll put a drop of black silicone in that 1 hole to seal it.

I'll try and get some more pics when it's had a good clean.

Meanwhile front ARB links replaced yesterday to sort out a bit of front end noise over bumps. Seems to have done the trick, will need to do some miles to make sure.

Replaced missing RS4 decal from tailgate. Some little scratches in the area, probably indicative of some scallywag prising off the original ones!
Some guidance online the corner of the red RS "square" starts 90mm up from the tailgate edge by 100mm in from the left.
Also brewed up some rouge powder paste to tackle a couple of annoying scratches in the windscreen. Went at it fairly carefully. Will see how it turned out in decent sunlight and hopefully just repeat as necessary to clean them up.

Absolute catastrophe Easter Monday cruising along M2 all hell breaks loose, shuddering and alarms on dash, limped it off the road and it cut out. Recovered home 8 hours later. Many long weeks of diagnosis to find it had dropped a valve!
It's since been with a specialist being stripped and repaired and about to come back together.
Been so long I keep forgetting I own one! Can't wait to get it back, will run it for a while and see how we get on.

Back home with a fully rebuilt engine. Not much made it back under the bonnet, but what did go back was finely put together with numerous uprated components or reconditioned/replaced with new for preventative sake.
Running like new and nice to have it home again!
It's all run in and has fresh oil, but taking it steady for a while yet before another oil change and check up.

Good.
Could you detail what kind of upgrades you did?
How big was the bill?

New rear discs and pads fitted today. Getting on 2 hours on the first side, mostly working out tools and methods. Second side done in around 30 mins.

Carista app worked well on the electronic handbrake service routine.
Popped reservoir cap, kept an eye on it then eased the pistons back to accept new parts and everything on ok. Only had to drained a small amount off

Couple of lessons learned if there's ever a next time....
Clean the car before getting stuck in. Hosepipe ban still in place down this way. It's killing me not being able to clean it.
Wear indicator cable clips to the pad and cannot be squeezed through the caliper!
Clear codes before doing the job. All sorts unrelated came up and cleared, possibly due to it recently having engine out!
