B7 RS4 in Aus

Post by rs4dave » Mon Apr 13, 2020 12:35 pm

Hi Guys,

I've recently purchased a 2006 B7 RS4 Avant after a long time looking. The one i ended up getting came with a fair few optional extras :) It's in pretty decent condition considering its age, with just a couple of little bits and pieces that i will sort out soon.

It has the following mods/optional extras already:
-Carbon ceramic brake package
-Porsche oil and coolant caps
-carbon interior trim
-LED upgrade to all interior lighting
-RS6 wheels
-Bilstein coilovers all round
-MTM Exhaust
-MTM Supercharger kit
-twin plate clutch(brand unknown)

Things I'd like to sort out in the near future:
-head unit upgrade( if a direct upgrade exists- recommendations ?)
-bit of paint correction and a couple of small dents to be removed
-replace factory intake with something aftermarket ( any recommendations ?)

I have noticed that it runs a bit rich and the cold start is a bit rough, so im not sure if whoever installed the supercharger kit fiddled with the tune, but I'll have to get it onto a dyno to suss it out.
Not sure how many others have the MTM s/c kit on their RS4 but I'd like to know if the Sport mode still has the same effects now that the car has the MTM ECU - the exhaust flaps do open up, but i'm not sure if thats all it does at this stage ( the throttle does feel more responsive in sport mode).

I've added a couple of pics - the day i got delivery, First wash and one of the engine bay :)

Well done Dave.

This is the car from WA I assume.

Good bit of gear you got for the price.

I have also got a B7 RS4 Avant and am just about to supercharge mine.

Lots of good info on the forum.
I am intending to post my build process.
Did you get maintenance records and all the info on when supercharger was installed ?
In regards to your other question regarding air intake Gruppe M or Revolution are mainly used by members.
Did you get a chance to drive a naturally aspirated one before buying this one ?
Would be interested in your impressions on power differences if you did

Thanks for the info Tony
Looking forward to your build, i might do something similar for mine
the car came with a full service history from the day it was bought which was pretty impressive - i have the supercharger install manual but not much info about when it was installed, i know who did it though.
Awesome - i will take a look at those intakes - needs some more supercharger noise :D
ive never driven a naturally aspirated one sorry
