so the works not stopped, been busy still,. new door mouldings arrived from TPS and were dropped at body Shop.

I've also ordered my flywheel for the manual conversion and lead time on that is 4 weeks.

also collected the springs from powder coaters as they were looking a bit worse for wear. front 2 coilovers have been cleaned and painted so they can be rebuilt back up, hoping to get the rears done tomorrow and strip the doner car down. Image

rear axle is ready to be dropped first thing in the morning, and I'll split the box from the engine. ImageImage

got a big weekend planned on the project. but had a spare hour today so I roughly mocked up the gearbox positioning on my spare engine.

it seems a straightforward job, I am still awaiting the flywheel to be delivered but seems the box will happily bolt straight up making use of 4 holes all ready there, I will then drill the starter bolts out into the new position and that will.make 6 out the original 10 used which would be satisfactory.

but it also seems one of the bolt holes on the sump area can be drilled and bolted, and the other 3 the sump can be alloy welded and drilled so quite confident it will happily work with minimum effort and all 10 bolts will be present.

one thing I disliked about not usning the spacer plate was other people have grinder the block to make the starter fit.

I think I have a solution for this but wont be able to tell exactly till my flywheel arrives and complete the mock up.

so far all I have spent is 400 quid for doner car which I'm slowly selling other parts off so should pretty much recoup.my cash. and a 30 quid spacer plate, and the flywheel which is under £400, some cars have duel mass flywheels which cost more.

bar the mapping I should come well under the 1k budget I set my self for the conversion.

bit of a update, my landlord were I remt 2 units and run my business from has decided 2 weeks ago they were not going to renew my licence! and we are out in a couple of months! so I have had to stop spending and look for alternative premises which is a absolute nightmare! may end up having to sell up if nothing turns up.
