Having had one go off in my face before Xmas, you definitely don’t want your child experiencing the same thing!

Yep, good point - don’t worry though, I disabled with the switch in the glovebox.

A few updates:

- Personalised reg bought and assigned
- SL restorations booked in from next week (going to have a word with him about gtechniq vs others - the forensic detailing reviews seem to be based on different gtechniq products than the ones I’d get applied)
- Getting the steering wheel retrimmed in charcoal alcantara by Royal Steering Wheels - to match headliner. They’re also going to make it thicker
- Camspec will be fitting H&R lowering springs for a slight (10-15mm) drop
- Still can’t decide on wheels!

It's running OEM with mag ride at the moment, presumably?
Be interested to hear how you get on with this, as I'm half expecting coilovers to be needed at some point on mine (if/when the leaks start).

If my geek memory is correct, the Plus deletes the mag ride to save weight and runs fixed rate dampers, and springs that are 10mm lower than a regular R8 V10.

With the state of our roads following this winter, I'd be scared of making it lower and stiffer!

Ian - Good geekery there - you’re right that the plus doesn’t have mag-ride, fixed damping only.

Cannae be arsed. I hate Cumbucket, they're the great ruiner of forums, I hope they all get bum cancer.
