Honestly you're a star. Saved myself a couple of grand by not getting the JC :)

No problem buddy. Let me know when you are there and I’ll try and pop over and say hello. I think Chris needs to give me commission not bills. :drink:

The pre cat removal and centre res delete is a great mod but is nothing like the sound of a weldfab. If you are expecting anything like that then you will be disappointed.
Another option is to get a cat back exhaust from weldfab. Think most people have gone for full system and that obviously bumps up the cost. Faurly sure one of their cat backs would also sound awesome. But if you just want something louder without terrorising the neighbourhood then pre cat and res delete is a good choice.

Thanks for the videos. Well I'm certainly torn now. Which did you prefer more of the two set ups you've had?

I've not had a weldfab but I had a tubi and res delete. Although the tubi sounded amazing it was so loud it kept drawing attention from the plod. No issues when I had the res delete though. If you are really torn between the 2 I'd base the decision on how much you use the car; res delete for daily driver or weldfab for weekend car.

Oh JC Weldfab no question - but it’s £2k more! The centre resonator delete approach is still a worthwhile mod - and I was happy with it until I had a passenger ride in a car with a JCWF!

To get around the issue Mike rightfully points out (it’s fooking loud with valves open), they do a quieter version. It adds a couple of resonators - and you also have the use of the valves. Ilya (username pule333) has this system on his car.

Additionally, both Ilya and I have a forza valve controller that allows you to take full control of the valves via a little remote control, irrespective of mode /gear/revs. E.g. you can drive around in sport mode with valves closed if you don’t want to attract attention.

I still can't make up my mind about what to do. My missus keeps reminding me we're supposed to be saving for our wedding; she just has no appreciation for these things! 2k is much better spent on an exhaust than a wedding band.....right?

Been a while since I made any updates. Was booked in at CM tuning in Leeds this Wednesday, however I called to reschedule for a later date as I have decided to stick with my original plan of a JC WeldFab exhaust. When I do take it in it'll still be having a carbon clean, health check, and a stage 2 remap.

In other news, I had some spare time today so decided to de-tango. Holy jesus Audi don't make it easy to get the lights out! Anyway I'm happy with the end results it definitely knocks a few years off the car.

Funny story, once I got both lights back in, bumper back on and the wheel arch lining re-attached, I decided to test everything was working. Turns out I didnt fully twist the bulb into one of the lights so had to undo everything, pull the light back out, then put it all back together. The lesson I learned today: always check its working BEFORE reassembling!
