So recently I made a thread asking for advice on whether to go ahead with my planned respray of my silver B7 RS4. Eventually I decided to go for it and wanted to document the progress here. The original thread is here:
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=127712
Boot and rear bumper removed:
Bonnet and front bumper:
I imagine you may be wondering why I have half red/half blue silicon hosing for the Pipercross induction kit, well you can thank the numpties at Revolution 24/7 for sending me different coloured ones despite me asking for all blue... Its on the list of things to put right.
The doors after having the glass taken out and door cards taken off. Lots of the clips broke during this so I need to find some replacement.
Unfortunately the foam membrane in the doors tore whilst stripping the doors, does anybody know where I can get some replacements?
Annoyingly the garage where I just had my set of Michelin PS4's installed broke my locking wheel nut so I have to get a replacement from Audi
So if you're wondering why they haven't been removed yet, that's why!
More updates to come as things progress.....!

Your local Audi dealer will have a universal wheel nut key.

You can get locking Wheel nut removal tools from Halfords or screwfix. Then bin the Audi lockers and get a set of mcgards

Replacement clips and membranes ordered from Audi. Absolutely stupid money for some plastic and foam. Not sure why I'm surprised...

Only a small update. Received my black rings for front and back and a black RS4 badge.
Nothing has changed with the car as of yet, the bodyshop were finishing off another job before they could get started on mine.
I got some new McGard lockers so the wheels can come off. All the broken parts arrived from Audi so have dropped those off at the bodyshop too. Hopefully will have some more updates towards the end of the week.

I like the black and not carbon fibre. The contrast with Yellow will look great

Papaya is a tangerine orange colour Cov, not yellow.
OP - have you checked a colour sample of the colour Papaya, as in some pictures it can look a little insipid. Glut Orange was later produced by Audi which is more vibrant.

Yes, I have. I originally considered glut orange but disliked it exactly because its a bit too vibrant. The reason I like Papaya is because its a bit more subtle and understated. The mirrors will be painted titainium to contrast the orange and to match that I hope to buy a set of anthracite Rotiforms:
Annoyingly I just got a new set of 19" tyres, so I'll have to get 19 wheels for now, otherwise I'd have gone for 20s.

Aha ok, I do like orange, I used to have a Signal Orange 3.0S Capri back in 1987

Why don’t you just sell the tyres?

Yeah that's not such a bad idea.

We have lift-off! Painting has commenced. I have to say I actually really like the way the colour is turning out. It might not be to everybody's taste, but I think it looks great.
A touch of orange peel at the moment, but its still very much in being sprayed phase, yet to be machined.

That’s very fast work. Two cars i’ve had paint were left to sit in primer for 3 weeks for the primer to settle and gas out.
