Looking at the run I did in August (quite soon after the clean) it was 388 at the flywheel (viewtopic.php?f=121&t=127839&start=135#p894105) however when I spoke to CM tuning about this result they said that RS tuning where I had the dyno done tend to read about 30bhp lower than what is correct. That does actually add up though, that would put me roughly at 418bhp which ties in with today's result, plus I had bad fuel in today (had no time to get VPower so had to get Esso 97).

That being said its still a low result.
I would say the fact there’s 7bhp difference between the runs on different dynos and the fact it’s 6 months since it’s had a carbon clean all add up. But I would say 415bhp average isn’t great for carbon clean 6 months ago, sports cats, carbon air intake, stage 2 manifold and map isn’t great. Did you not get a dyno graph when it’s had the work at MRC?

Cheers

The work wasn't carried out at MRC, it was carried out by Chris @ CM Tuning (he used to work for MRC). He resells their maps but of course its a generic stage 2 map not tweaked on the dyno therefore won't be maximising the potential of the engine.

I'm really giving some serious thought to saying f*ck it and taking it down to MRC for stage 3 treatment.

Supercharger?
Which sorts cats do you have? If they are 200cell then they are mo less restrictive than the oem exhaust with precats gutted.
But I'd expect around the 440ps mark for those mods.
Who did the carbon clean?
And without a proper MRC stage 2 then it all adds up to being slightly down on power.

Yep charger.
Pretty sure they're 100 cell cats but I'd have to dig the invoice out to be sure.
Carbon clean was done at CM tuning.

Is the only "real" comparison is going to be run before all mods, then a run after all mods, on the same dyno, in the same conditions (on the same day?)... Otherwise you're unlikely to be comparing apples with apples.

Also, surely you know whether the car feels better or quicker or smoother rather than relying on a dyno to tell you so?

To me, chasing power numbers is likely to end in disappointment, until you get the results you want. Had the garage said "hey your car made 450bhp", but the car feels exactly as it does now, would you be any more satisfied?

Callum, as long as it feels good to drive don't worry mate. I rinse mine out as much as possible and watch my black smoke carbon foot print destroy the ozone and give us good summers.

Yeah it feels completely different to how it did before - way more responsive, more pull, all around a totally different animal to before the map etc. So yes I am happy with it. I just expected a bit more, I'm not even back to "stock" at this point.

B7 RS4's still hold their own. I killed a an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio the other day on the M40, yes I could believe it either

Stage 2 map and manifold, carbon air intake, full exhaust with sports cats. Was carbon cleaned in June last year. Surely there can't be that much carbon build up in 6 months?
Sorry, just read your sig. that’s not too great considering what’s been done. I wouldn’t of thought so no, did you know what the figures were once it had its stage 2 map?

Cheers

It’s mapped for 99ron. Try Tesco Momentum.

Just checked my graph and made 344whp. The fuel may well make all the difference.
