That’s very fast work. Two cars i’ve had paint were left to sit in primer for 3 weeks for the primer to settle and gas out.
3 weeks seems quite a long time. The prep for these panels started on Saturday so they've had minimum 4-5 days in primer. I'm by no means an expert but that seems perfectly fine to me??

EDIT: No primer

modern materials on a stable base-should be fine when painted quickly
some folk leave fibreglass cars ages in thick primer before final flattening and topcoat though-it seems to be less stable

keep the pics coming

Does he actually have a spray booth & oven? From the pics looks like he’s painting in a dirty unit with no extraction. Also looks like he’s not primered the car, just flatted it. You’ve got me worried now!

Booth: yes
Oven: no

The car doesn't fit in the booth so the parts that can't easily be removed (roof, for example) are being sprayed in the Shop.

As for the primer: No. From my understanding, the only time you would need to prime is either if it was over a repaired area or it was sanded down to bear metal. Seeing as none of these have happened or need to happen, its fine to flat existing body work and spray over. I don't see an issue here. This contradicts my earlier post, but I'm making assumptions based on the images I have - next time I call I'll ask and get a definitive answer.

My OCD would hospitalise me from the look of that workshop. I hope you get a decent end result cause if a Shop cant organise a clean and tidy working environment then I can’t imagine them being very conscientious about turning out a good job. I hope I’m wrong.

Yeah, me too. There were only 2 genuine Papaya’s this side of the pond. One, I think was wrecked and the other gained mystical status. It was owned by a professional photog.

That looks awesome, We'll have to see the finished product but if it looks like this then it's a good choice by CalUmB7 :rocker:
