Wow, looks epic.

Wish I could lose that much boot space.

Is the box for the W7 now sealed?

No it’s not. I still have to make the port able to breath. Job for today Image

Aha, I can see the old box behind that panel now. You using that space behind the panel on the left hand side for anything?

Not sure yet. I’m going to see if I can get a Rockford shallow mount 8” on the shelf. And fabricate a box to fix up underneath. That will take up some of the room.

I’ll mount the amp in the right hand panel opposite the DSP if I do.

I’m also thinking about changing the centre dash speaker, separating the tweeters from the mid range as they are crossed over in the doors. If I do I’ll have another 4 channel to mount so will use that space for that.

I also removed the tool kit and tyre kit so need somewhere to put that.

That's one of the issues I have, can't get to any of the storage space or battery. For years I've had to carry a tyre pump in the rear footwells.

I have the space. The battery is obviously an issue but that will just have to be. It’s set too far back to make it accessible with a panel.

Something I have found on the RTA built into the DSP. There is a full signal through both the front and rear line inputs but the rear is much quieter. I expect it’s because the sub is connected to it.

The Dsp allows me to balance them and the drop the line to the sub back a bit otherwise it is way too much (didn’t think I’d be saying that)

Few more bits to wrap, then onto Perspex and lighting. Getting there now.

Looking really smart. It sooooo reminds me of the days when I used to do this stuff. Wasn’t as much fun doing it day in day out for other people. After 14 years of it I had to get out and ain’t touched a car since 2004. Well done and keep up the good work.

Do you reckon you can make a business from it these days? Everyone wants something for nothing. The hours that go into it would make it hard I reckon. I love it though, although as you say, day in day out I would get tiring.

I wouldn’t say it was viable anymore Jon. I used to charge £25 per hour and on average doing a build like yours would take 40-80 hours dependant on the amount of sound proofing Joe bloggs wanted doing. There was/is a limited number of customers willing to pay that then and I’d say there would be even less nowadays. People spend their money more on tuning and exterior mods nowadays from what I’m seeing. Even Toad PLC, who I worked for, are a fitting company for CCTV on buses and they fit comms equipment for the emergency services. In-car died a long time ago as all new cars come pretty well equipped now. I’ve still got 2 Rockford Fosgate amps, Alpine flip up Screen with Sat Nav and multi changer as well as some carbon 13in focal mids, 2 x 7in headrest screens all in a box that’s been there since 2005 taken out of my BMW 330.

Not very many people are willing to pay for quality exterior mod parts either, nowadays, from my experience.
It's always a nice idea that you can turn a hobby/something you enjoy doing into a business, but definitely think you're doing the right thing here Jon - building yourself something quality and unique that you can take satisfaction from and enjoy... and others can admire. Image

Yes that’s true. But if someone we won’t mention (beeshitty) hadn’t of stolen yours/ Faisal’s idea last year then you would have done alright out off the diffuser sales.

Story Jon for the slight detour.
