Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
So, after spending £250 per custom spring from H&R to get a 55mm drop I have decided it was a complete waste of money. I fit the springs monday this week and after the advised settlement time of the springs I have achieved only 4mm from the 40mm I originally had fitted.
Today I bit the bullet and bought some Gepfeffert KW fully adjustable coilovers so I can really get the look I am after. Fingers grossed the Non-resonated milltek and KWs should be here before christmas.

I'll dig the codes out later Jack. I assume you have VCDS or know someone with the cable?Jack Falla wrote:Mike - How do I re code the boot to shut on the key, DRL to be 100% on dipped beam, Start stop to always be off and light off instead of on? Any others worth doing??
I haven't done the 100% DRL mod but was meaning to look at it as it turns all the way off when the indicator flashes which looks rubbish so I was going to change it to something like 50% when indicators flash.
Other mods I did was to activate the DRL switch off option in MMI (so I can work on the car with the igniton on at night without the lights on).
Also, turn off seat belt warning, stop the handbrake coming on when you open the door (hate when parking and you open the door to check kerb / lines and heand brake comes on), release handbrake with accelerator when seat belt is off and rear lights on with DRLs.
The one I haven't figured out yet is to stop the chime coming on when you open the drivers door when the engine is running (pressing the left steering whell button turns it off temporarily).
Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
It will look awesome with that kit. I was just in the garage looking at mine and was thinking about fitting the 20mm springs on the front so I can fit the spacers on to bring the wheels out but then thought about your custom rear springs and wondered if that was a better option but would mean losing the rear spacers. Your experience with these custom springs is pushing me to lifting the front slightly to bring the front wheels out more.Jack Falla wrote:So, after spending £250 per custom spring from H&R to get a 55mm drop I have decided it was a complete waste of money. Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
This is the instruction I found online for the remote boot closing and from door switch (which didn't work until I figured out the next part). Every car I've done so far has already had these settings correct, so just make sure yours are set to these values first:
[Select]
[46 - Cent Conv]
[Coding - 07]
Click on byte 2, bit 2
Tick Comfort operation: Remote control active
[Do It!]
[Select]
[4D - Trunk Elec]
[Security Access - 16]
Input 12345
[Adaption - 10]
Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key - Touch function for closing
Change to ACTIVE
[Do It!]
Once you've checked both of the above items are selected check the following options and change to the values shown if not already set (this is the bit that actually makes it work):
6D – Trunk electronics
Security access – 16 = 12345
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid opening button in remote key-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(4)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Tap function for closing) from not active to active
Address 6D:4G9 959 107 A recoded (ADP-(3)-Activation using rear lid remote unlocking switch-Touch function for closing) from active to not active
This will result:
remote opening – long press - touch
remote closing – short press - tap
door switch – short press – tap
Touch = long press is set for opening to prevent accidentally opening the hatch.
I normally mess up on that bit as the option look so similar and the list above is not in the same order as they appear on the screen so it ca ntake a couple of goes to get it all working as it should. I should perhaps make a note of the order and rearange the list above to make it simpler to follow. Just make sure you select the right one each time.

Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
Thanks Mike. Bloody hell its all a bit confused. I have a friend who is a Audi technician so was hoping he could grab one from the dealership.
50% when indicators are on is a good idea. Also the handbrake!
I can take a picture of how my rear sits, I am running 20mm spacers with them and they are absolutely fine. It is lower it's just not the look I am after. I want it too be practically on the floor. I say practically as I do still want it practical.
If you like the height of mine I'm happy to sell you my custom 55mm H&R rears.

Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
It looks confusing but essentially you just need to change 4 things. I can pretty much guarantee the first bit is already set up right.
Thanks for the offer but not sure it's worth the hassle for an extra 4mm. I have 15mm spacers on the rear, surprised you can get 20mm on there.

Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
H&R seem to be convinced that I will achieve the 15mm I am after if I stick with them. I'm just impatient and think I'd rather get exactly what I am wanting with the coilovers. The arch sits on the ridge on the edge of the tire wall. Maybe they are 15mm I've tried so many spacers etc I'm lost with what's actually on the car now

Re: Audi RS6 Performance C7
It does sit lower than this, was on uneven surface and it's not a great example. I took a picture today and re-measured. It's sitting roughly 8-10mm lower than my 40mm springs did.Ian_C wrote:Mike, surprised you didn't reply to this - that picture looks no lower than yours which runs 40mm lowering springs?Jack Falla wrote:
