I thought I'd start a thread as this one is staying a few years and it's inevitable I'll tweak stuff.
First up was a proper detail:
Paint:
Autoclense snow foam
Zymol clay
Auto glym polish
Zymol hd clense
Zaino polish
Maguires glaze
P222 wax
Inside:
Auto glym fast glass
Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner
This was after a 300 mile trip to Wales:

Next up i needed to sort the dull lights. Trups sorted me out with the full works.
Exterior:
Reverse
Front indicators
Cornering lights
Interior:
Footwells
Domes
4 x reading
Sunvisors
Glove box
Boot and boot lid
Puddle lights
Active reflectors
Here's a funny one, OEM LED footwell vs. Trups LED:

Yep u did a 4mm hole for depth and then the 10mm. It's getting the angle right which is important.

A bit of coding tonight.
- remove error caused by reverse LEDs
- add hidden menu
- release parking brake without the foot brake
- make DRL's 100% with dipped beam
- remove stupid key warning
- CD ripping
Things i cant get working so will go to round 2:
- Chirp on lock and unlock
- 5 blinks on the indicator not 3
- alarm zero delay instead of 15 seconds
- shut the boot with the key
- Winking drl's on turn signal
- interior light control - i see the background light option but it is greyed out

If I end up in a B8 one day, it has to be daytona with pan sunroof...looks ace Deano.
Is that a recaro monza car seat too? Good choice, very RS
What else you got planned?

Thanks man, it sure is.
I just love Daytona in the sun:
No major plans really. Off to AMD in a few weeks hopefully to get on the rollers to see where it's at.
I'll change the exhaust at some point too

Dean, call me and I can get the "interior light control" to be un greyed if you get me? On the facelift you have to do an extra thing in the hidden menu for you to be able to use that feature.

Thanks @trups, i figured it in the end. Done it all other than the boot on the fob and the 5 blinks rather than 3 now

Another little tweak. I plugged the vacuum input for the exhaust valve actuators.
I'm much happier. It's sounds as it should now all the time. In order of noticeable difference:
- Rumble on let off and the up and down shift farts and blips between roughly 1k and 4k are much more noticeable
- exhaust noise on acceleration between 1k and 4k. Again quite difference - much deeper
- smoothness between 1k and 4k. Slight but definitely noticeable
There is a slight drone in D7 under load below 50mph but to be honest it's still less than what i expected this car to make in quiet mode. Have the stereo on over 10 and you can't hear it at all.
I was going to use a bolt but i found this random thing in the same drawer as the zipties and it was a nicer fit.
Another thing i noticed was having the rear seats folded down (which i did on my return leg) makes the exhaust much louder in the cabin.

Another thing off the list and i'm proud of this one. I had a few door rattles which drive me mental. After the standard tactic of prodding various bits until it stops i narrowed it down to the trim around the B&O tweeter near the wing mirror. The whole trim in that area is quite loose but the issue is the contact between the hard plastic triangle outer trim and the hard plastic just beneath the door card.
I tried padding out this area but it would just vibrate into the door over time.
I found an easier way.
1 - find some dense foam. I cut up a paint roller:
2 - Insert some here which pulls this bit of trim forward a mm or so and stops the movement:
You can just about see it in there:
Now you have a tiny gap in the trouble area and no movement:

Great on the annoying rattle - I have that and have been wondering how to fix it. Got some noob questions for you:
What does the vaccum hose do normally and what's the impact of plugging it (pro's vs cons)
What does DRL stand for?
Is there somewhere with the coding tutorials? I'd like the lights mods
What is the hidden menu - so so so intrigued!!
What is the interior light mod
