The car is currently in the body shop having a front end respray as well as all the other little bits that needed doing too. When dropping it off I noticed there was a little scratch on one of my wing mirrors. It could have been buffed out but I got them sprayed titan instead. I also removed the wrap from the window trims and had them sprayed matt black. Its all ready for collection now. Cant wait to get back to the UK to pick it up and see how it all looks now. Pictures to follow.
Hi Mike,

Who did you use to get the paintwork done? I'm looking for someone to sort mine out. The place I used to use changed hands and have made a complete hash of some repairs to my van.

Cheers

I took it to Reflex Auto Design in Daventry. They came recommended by my detailer and are big into modifying on the VAG scene.

LOL, I don't think I've taken any yet (well not proper photos, I took some crap phone photos but it didn't look any different). It's hiding in the garage at the moment while then engine is being thoroughly cleaned, the headlights are being freshened up and I'm trying to sort out the valves for the bolsters (I have a couple of leaks but looks like it's going to be new valves).

Edit: I just looked at the photos again, some of them are OK but a bit overexposed. I'll blank out the plate then post some up tomorrow.

I haven't updated this in a while (and still not posted any photos since the spruce up).
The car has been to see MRC getting ready for sale. It had a knocking noise when wiggling the steering but only when cold. And there was excessive smoke on start up. Anyway the knocking was due to the track rod ends and the smoke was due to the oil seperater / breather which ahve all been replaced. Had a few other bits tidied up while there (missing bolts etc). And as much as it pains to say this, I asked for it to be fully carbon cleaned too. For me it is a pointless exercise; it is still producing roughly the same power as it was 4 years ago (previously was 403ps and now 396ps I think). But I know buyers expect it to be done nowadays, eve nif it was done 3 years ago they still want it done which to me is pointless. But I've done it now, and I know I won't get it the money back either! Tthey also said my rear pads were almost worn out but the rear pads and discs have only done about 7000 miles I think (need to double check that), unless they meant % worn rather than % left.

quick question Mike - now the oil breather/separator has been replaced, has this got rid of the smoky startups?

cheers
