Thing is, if you're paying for the Raywell, might as well cough up a bit extra for OEM. Little devil stocks them, 1500EUR ish I think.

Yes, he does, but that is still double the cost. Perosnally I'd go for OEM but at least there are viable options for others who are not so bothered.

Is Raywell a pair? Reads like its a single cover.

If it was for a single cover then yes it puts it into OEM territory. The ad shows 2 covers and doesn't ask if you want a left or right one so I assume it is for a pair. I'd be seriously miffed if I ordered based on that advert and only 1 cover turned up!

This weekend I've been seriously struggling to not buy some new wheels. Odd think is, I really like the wheels I have.

Hmmm, the description says 'caps' implying plural.

It then goes on to say:
GENUINE CARBON FIBRE MIRROR COVERS
Again implying 2 covers.

But then says:
OEM Audi mirror cover skinned in genuine carbon fibre - for perfect fit
Implying singular. I think the 'cover' above should say 'covers', other than that it implies a pair but yes you are right it is not conclusive.

I'm not bothered about the direction of the weave, as long as they are a good fit. The ones from Germany for £312 look good to me.

If you have the doors done Mike, won't they have to machine off the Serum and Exo ? ppf does not stick well to quarz coatings. Don't suppose it's a problem, but serum is a bugger to remove completely, not even sure how to go about it on corners and edges around the handle depression for example.

I had the whole car coated before having the front end protection applied so doesn't seem to be a problem on the paintwork. But I'll probably need a coating of exo on the film to match the rest of the car.

I would check that the advice you have been given is correct - you mention some minor adhesion problems I think -

The film will not stick down properly, I had the carbon collective crystal serum on my car a few months before the film was applied, it was a nightmare to stick, the fitter had to wipe the paintwork over to try and remove the coating, ended up going back to have the cornerers of the front bumper replaced.

I'll double check with my detailer and ppf guy.
The adhesion problems were only on plastic not paintwork.

I will be in the USA next month. We run a "barter scheme" in our company. We get things delivered to our local officess and then carry them around on our flights (legal items only !) I often carry UK sourced stuff and a tonne of cadburys to the US and bring things home. If you are in the South and need a legal mule I am always happy to help.

Love those Infinity's had a few pairs of them in my time. Pair them with a strong Amp and they made the place rock. We used to put a brace alongside them to stop them shaking the panels loose.

I have grown up now and so use Focals !! (who am I kidding)

I have recently bought the Raywell Carbon mirror covers and can highly recommend them. Excellent quality and they look fantastic. A friend of mine has the Audi originals on his C7 and we agreed that we couldn't really tell any difference between them.
Price is for a pair and they are available with the cut outs for side assist as well.
