This is still one of my favourite Avants on the forum and a credit to Kev/Sync24 and your ownership of the car. I saw it at AITP about 3 years ago when Kev showed me the mods he'd done including that gorgeous interior trim. Liked it ever since.

It's doing great, alcantara is surprisingly durable. No wear at all to report on the seats, and the wheel has a minimal amount of flattening of the material.

It's a charcoal colour but I did also wonder from those pics (before I went to see the car) if there was a red tinge to the material.

It's funny; most people that sit in the car don't even notice it's been retrimmed, they probably just assume it's OEM. I think Kev's choice of material and colours was spot on...OEM+

Next, relatively minor, change I'm thinking about is the plates. I like the look of tinted plates (as David has on his R8 GT and RS6), but wondering if they'd draw unwanted attention from the plod?

I've also seen for sale in the US a plate retracting mechanism for the front that hides the plate under the front bumper when parked, and then pops the plate out at the press of a button. Might be cool to have plate less front end when parked up. Anyone considered this?

So here's something I would never have contemplated doing to my cars before having sprogs. However, going away for a week with 2 kids for the first time, so needs must.

Oddly, I like it!







I was in a hurry, so the roof box (Mont Blanc vista 450l gloss black) was bought cheap on gumtree, and bars were bought on Amazon prime so I could get them today (Thule wingbars in black).

Let's see what it's like on the motorway tomorrow!
