Bits arriving slowly.

From what I read I can run 20mm spacers on the front and 17.5mm rear. Seems very aggressive. Going with 15mm around see how that goes.

Should be stage 1 next week as well :thumb:

So done a wee bit of testing before I do a DIY induction kit.

Stock airbox is complete rubbish in terms of keeping temps down.

Although the RS6/7 does not have a AIT sensor it does have before and after charge cooler temp sensors. Went for a sensible drive, stopped at my house and monitored the AIT pre and post charge cooler. Sitting idling intake temps were 50DegC turbo outlet and 40DegC post charge cooler. Obviously loads of heat soak going on there. Will be interesting to see the difference when I bin the stock air box in favour of 2 x Cone filters and a heat shield.

Obviously I will do more testing before I bin the Stock airbox.

VCDS. Sample rate is better with the new settings but still not great. Nailing it I 2nd gear its every 300rpm, in 3rd its every 100rpm so not too bad I suppose.
Good to see someone logging data, too many bolt on and then just start waxing lyrical nowadays

What settings did you tweak, I can only get around 4 or 5 sample rates a second in Turbo mode, logging a couple of data fields.

I followed the below. No issues so far

4.8 How can I speed up my sample rate in VAG-COM?
The sample rate at which you can view and log data is largely determined by each controller in the car. There are a few things you can do to speed up the rate for a given controller. First, logging one group at a time, rather than two or three, will help greatly. In order to get the highest sample rate possible go to the Options screen and set Blk Int to 25 and Char Int to 0. Note, however, that this may cause unreliable communications with some controllers. The KP2 Time parameter only applies to controllers using the KWP-2000 protocol. Decreasing it speeds up the sample rate in Measuring Blocks on control modules that use the KWP-2000 protocols. Try setting it to 0. If any of these adjustments cause unreliable communications, change them back closer to the defaults. If in doubt, use the Restore Defaults button!
In Engine controllers using KWP-2000, there is a [Turbo] button in the latest version of VAG-COM. This can significantly speed up sampling, in some cases to over 30 samples per second. See the Measuring Blocks page for more information.

Did some more intake temp logging, also used an infrared gun to see how hot the Air box gets. Interesting info.

Logged AFR as well, no wonder these cars are so fuel hungry, even cruising they struggle to hit 14.7AFR. optimal Cruising AFR is around 15.7 (ish)

Video was huge. I will upload it to my YouTube site then attach here.

Intake pipes would definitely benefit from some decent heat insulation. Air box was around 5 DegC, inside and out (outside temp 1.5degC at the time) Intake pipe (especially the inner one) was up over 114DegC That's mental!!!!
