Reputable Remapper

Post by matt8442 » Tue May 24, 2011 11:48 pm

Hi all, am after remapping my Audi S5, and have seen a lot of companies advertising this on the net, with prices ranging from £680 to £200. Now I do not want to be arse raped on the price, and I know you pay for what you get, so which company would you all recomend, I would rather listen to testamonials from you guys that someone called "Paul" from manchester on the companies websites. Also the gains seem a little overexagerated, with companies promising me 30 BHP and 29ibft torque. Is this realistic just from am ECU remap? Thanks for your time everyone.

I think your best bet would be to save up and go fo the whole hog, remap, exhaust and filters. Just a remap really won't make that much of a difference. OR, you could supercharge it. MRC have done a fair few rs4's now and a couple of s5's i think.
Where are you based mate?

who's doing your exhaust? can they offer a remap?
you might have found one of the place's here (unit 20 or mrc) will be cheaper to get the exhaust from!

I went to MRC to get get my RS done and I had a filter and exhaust already fitted.

Not cheap but they had they car for 3 and half hours on the dyno, sorted an air leak that was very minor but wasnt one of the 'usual' ones and they found me 50 extra bhp (that little air leak robbed me of lots!) so I was happy. I paid a bit more to go to them but I am looking to start a relationship with them (uurrrgghhhh) as I will be heading that way when my Audi Warranty runs out for a ported head, CAF etc etc.

They were friendly and helpful and didnt treat me like an idiot which is always a bonus
