push the lower part of the knob down (trim around the stick) then pull out the button and secure with a cable tie,then a good tug and it should come off,be very carefull with it though if you let the button go back in its a real pain in arse to get back on (the button mechanism has a bell crank in it),hope that helps

I tried to remove my gear shifter on my C6 RS6. I tried pulling the push button out and lifting the knob, but it would not move.
Any clues?
