H&R Lowering Springs vs Standard

For not wanting to exhaust my never ending questions on my future set up of my S4, can anyone advise?
I want to lower the car as I believe fitting 19s on standard suspension will make it look odd (the front wheel arch gap is larger than the back on S4's as I think most will agree)
I dont want to lose too much comfort but appreciate I will obviously lose some by firstly fitting lower profile tyres and losing some suspension travel due to the springs. Eibach dont do springs for the B7 S4 but H&R do.
I understand they are progressive so will lend some comfort during normal driving and firm up comsiderably when pushed hard.
Coilovers are probably the answer to all my questions, but I dont want to pay the premium.
Can anyone comment on the ride quality on Standard over H&R lowering springs?
