Free MOT at Audi if privately owned

Not sure if you have to have the repairs done there if it fails, but could save you £50 if it passes :D

Just about to post this!

Mine's due soon and I'm in two minds whether to go for it or not after my last experience with Audi.

I've got mine booked in Saturday at a specialist, and I've decided to keep it booked there and pay. Audi is quite far away and they are bound to fail on something petty and I'd feel stupid collecting when/if it has failed. Audi also state the retest is NOT free. Also, I know the specialist will take better care/advise of problems.

My thoughts exactly, plus some dealers don't have MOT facilities, so they *might* farm it out to an independant, so god knows who could end up driving your car.

So, in summary, we aren't going to take them up on the offer  Suppose it would be different if we knew our cars would pass and we could wait/watch them MOT at the stealers.

My car has only ever *failed* on sidelight bulbs (replaced with LED ones now) - I guess this would constitute as as needed a retest, so that would be "£50 plus another £50 to replace the bulb sir"!

I would never get an MOT done at the dealer, especially if it's free. I listened to their "it's worn sir and needs changing" story once and never again. Got an independant to change the 'alleged' worn parts and they were perfect.

The crunch is obviously hurting them, all I can say is GOOD
