Has anybody ever used this garage for APR in Kirkaldy?

I went up for a stage 1 remap and found out that my ecu is the one that needs memory soldering to the board, or something like that.

They reset a service reminder and checked my car over for faults for free

So wasted 240 mile journey for me, seem a canny bunch of lads though, they offered to do my chip if I removed it from the car and they would pay for collection but I need it at the minute.

Funny, they told me I might need to do the same thing if I bring my car in??? Never heard this before.

supposedly the pre facelift models need this done, the ones that use a throttle cable, the facelift drive by wire doesn't but there are a few facelift drive by wires that use the older ecu, like a facelift 0.5 vers I suppose.

but at least I know now for when I go the full hog. 8)

well that's what they told me, I also thought that.

probably spiel or something like that. all I know is that they couldn't map mine because there wasn't enough free area in the memory and it wouldn't save, don't know if this is a common problem.

Thought so, because when i saw you last year we flipped your bonnet and i cant remeber seeing any cable to throttle body, just the electrical connecter.

You should share your experience with Awesome the UK APR distributor.

They will advise you what is correct installation procedure for APR re-maps on your car.

I think some people in this "tuning" business should give up and take up a KFC franchise IMHO...
