Just a thought - how many B5 cars off the road at the mo?

Just thinking, I don't remember this many B5 RS4s and S4s off the road with the engine out etc before? Seems to be a bunch of us, is it just coincidence or is the age of the cars showing up?.... I know some of them are mods, but they are usually prompted by something needing replaced.

Turbo gave way at Castle Coombe. I have all the bits necessary for the K04 coversion. Hoping to have the car back on the road by end of May.

someone forgot to put seals on the KO4s. And I went airborn on the A54 and cracked an exhaust manifold, I think that's what caused it. So engine out time....

Mine's actually on the road for once, but within the last year it's seen plenty of time with it's guts out on workshop floors.
Don't think anyone on that list above had a standard car...

There's not much to tell. Having a good time, late at night, clear, empty road near congleton. Round a slow bend, the road was uneven and the car skitting and bouncing from peak to peak, flat out in 2nd - no traction at all. Then in 3rd it just went airborn (from 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm instantly) then down in to a bit of a dip. Made a big bang, I thought I might have punctured a tyre but I'd grounded the car, scraped two cats and the triangles where the DTS would fit. Scrape marks in the sump too.
I put the ESP back on after that
A couple of days later it sounded a bit rough and smelt of unburnt fuel at start up. Got the little mirror out and it's cracked around the collector on the off side.
Oh well, stuff happens...
Standard manifolds are really good I've heard...
