Anti Lag Kit

Post by viperbl » Sun Mar 16, 2008 1:35 pm

I am thinking I might put an anti lag kit in with my new garrett setup, on a switch so it can be used when needed and not running all the time...

Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? maybe a know a good "kit" ?? from bad one??!

anti lag ...

Post by satanschild » Sun Mar 16, 2008 2:23 pm

you would need to run a stand alone ecu that supports anti lag.....
you also cant have it on a button ... you need to programe it into the ecu..

and unless you get your garretts built with impeller shafts at £2,230 each one, they will last about 10 mins.... BUT..................

please dont let that put you off... i know a few people that run anti lag on standard turbo's with no probs..... :D HOWEVER

ive seen more go bang than not

if your still intrested pm me i can get you an ecu that does ....
we will still run anti lag in satans child but just for thoes few seconds as the second stage launch control off the line.

the guys that built my turbo and our sponsors wont garantee it will fail....
nor will they garantee it wont ....but we have been advised not too

the gains from it wont make any great difference to peformance appart from launches on full boost... for your hill climbs it would be a great addition if you ran it all the time and would make the car much quicker...
but at a very unwanted price tag .....

hope this helps a bit ... jack

Thanks Jack, load of info there!!

Is the main problem that they fail because of over speed or because of extended spool up time?

Mark, that is not a bad idea, but I feel if I put in NOS I would use it not just for compensate lag!!! LOL!, but, is that a bad thing!?? :P

i think anti lag dets fuel just before the exhaust turbine, the force of that causes it to fail. evo's have titanium or something turbo's to strengthen against it somewhat

anti lag..

spot on dummi.....

to run anti lag trouble free you need titanium impeller shafts in your turbo's

anti lag basicialy is a fire in your turbo as dummi said, this causes the shafts to get way to hot and eventually seize......

well i say eventually can be as quick as 4 seconds .....
