Pressure Test Coolant System?

Post by viperbl » Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:49 pm

I am thinking I should pressure test the coolant system once I have the engine built and before I put it back in the car ... because of new turbo's etc going on, there is obviously a real chance of a leak somewhere...

How is this done, do I need to get some kind of adapters made up, like in the same way as the pressure tester for the air intake system?

just buy a tester with the correct adaptor for the screw thread on the coolant bottle..then pump it up to the req pressure..

Yeah, that makes sense Simon, I was not sure if I could it without connecting up the whole system, but on thinking, what would be the point in just testing half of it!!

Cheers

And, as I found out recently, it makes your parking space a pretty colour if you've got a leak
