As far as ECU's go, you'll find the stock ECU hard to beat in terms of safety and everything else. For 650 BHP you'd need the following:

-lower compression
-full exhaust with race cats
-race fuel pump
-larger injectors
-custom turbochargers
-remap.

If you want my opinion, it's not the sort of upgrade you can do in your backyard.

Lower compression? Do you know that for a fact or is it a bit of a guess? ( dont take that as a knock at you as all advice is needed and taken with great thanks  ) And ye the rest of your points i can understand! And also it wont be done in a backyard  I have a full work shop and belive it or not i built the fastest supra in the u.k back in 1999, and its still alive today on the same build and still racing! Just its the 13th quickest now a days!
Has anyone heard of a problem with the manifolds?
