I'm not sure if this has been thought about before but could you mount a high power fan behind each SMIC?

Not sure on that Mark, but i like your thinking and can't see any reason why not!

you'd have to move or junk the air-con canister on the drivers side IC as it's rite close behind that 1..and i dont think you'd get a fan behind it..
would the fan be blowing towards the front or sucking air through..

Behind I'd want it to be sucking. Forgot about the AC canister

Interesting. Do you think it would make much difference? Reason why I ask is will it add any additional cooling over and above the air already passing through the air cooler as a result of the forward momentum of the car?

where would you get a fan strong enough to help? water mister would be better, co2 or nos even better (but co2 is bad ofr intake and nos is a waste for cooling ICs)
aircon used to cool ICs?? I think some astons used to do that.

i think its an FMIC heat wrapped to aid in temps then..

deffo go for a decent meth/water injection..... on a lot of cars people mist it across the cooler.. people seem to think it has to go near the throttle body, not true.

Don't Smart cars have fan assisted intercoolers?, sure I saw it somewhere...

yes maybe on the burn cycle, but you would be surprised how much the intake temps drop, when it is blown across the IC

Burn cycle is key in this Darren IMHO. I did a lot of investigation into this in '03;

With a spray system, I agree it does have benefits mate, but nowhere near as much as the direct route (well before tb) when we tried it. Plus with the spray system you have to work out what is the optimum time to spray which in some instances can be a bit later than needed i.e. the trigger for the spray. I tried both and stuck with the one that worked for me and my engine best

Are you running a twin system into the bi-pipes? sounds good.

No mate, just a single drilled in at the junction of the Y pipe giving it plenty of time to get 'swirled and atomised' (so I was told). The key was the trigger which ended up being the '3 input hit' programmable Aquamist. Worked a treat, but make sure you get your car mapped with it turned OFF, otherwise if you run out of water......
