thats either a carbon bonnet panel over a fibreglass frame or a carbon overlay on a complete fibreglass bonnet..

Tranlated with Babelfish....

The hood is worked in view carbon, the lower bracings is from GRP, sees pictures. The hood is approx. 14kg more easily than the series hood! Note: The hood is not permissible in the traffic and expressly for "demonstrating purposes" is sold here! There it around a special production does not act gives I a warranty on register accuracy! The hood had been blocked only short time to exhibition purposes. It does not have breaks, put finally a small tear in the clear lacquer, which one cannot hold unfortunately in pictures.

For the bonnet and the tailgate I would only use "dry" carbon items.

These are not like the cheap, and over-weight "wet" carbon items, which are just carbon overlaid on FRP. Will probably end up being the same weight or maybe slightly less than your original bonnet.

AFAIK I don't know of anyone making dry carbon bonnets for the B5. Also alot of the cheaper bonnets maybe single skinned, with no original style bonnet latch hence needing bonnet pins which IMO look butt ugly on a road car.

i have a carbon bonnet sitting in my garage still in the box - not even looked at it - since it was delivered to my home address by mistake i need to find a van now to get it to the shop to even look at it. I'll get some pics this week.

The A.W.E carbon fibre bonnet is roughly 15kg lighter, sounds tempting . . .

I wonder how much the standard exhaust weighs compared to a full Milltek system?

If we're talking Milltek twin, there's not much in it - I've carried both systems to / from the car several times!

Every carbon fibre item I've sene has ahd the carbon fibre look, to show that it is CF. Looks very race car. Question is, will CF take a layer of primer and some paint, and blend with what I've got already?
