Best deal for Recaro 's pole position ABE ?????Where??

Post by quattrosteph » Wed Jan 23, 2008 11:06 pm

Hello guys,

I am looking for buying a pair of pole position recaro seat ABE (road legal) in black Velour or "nardo" with all the kit .Did find a web site Capital seating and vision.

Are they the cheapest ? As the full real leather is too expensive for me i will go for velour or synthetic alcantara . it is good quality?

Is there any other brand road legal ? :greyrs4: Sheers

I think Capital is one of, if not the cheapest Recaro supplier.
Remember to add airbag resistors to your order.

Steph, I personally think that the fabric finish will devalue your car (and look odd!) I understand you've got hi-tech, and I haven't seen a hitech option for the aftermarket pole positions (it was available on the GmBH ones IIRC), but I guess you could get an upholsterer to redo the seat panels (which just velcro on) if you can get hold of some of the hi-tech material (this should be available OK).

I'm looking at getting a set of Recaro SPG and Capital are the cheapest, just! Try sportseats4u also as they discount quite well for pairs of seats.

If hi-tech was a GbmH option on the Pole Position seat you should contact Recaro in Germany (Recaro Uk are less than useless) and enquire about the centre covers.

Pole position

Post by quattrosteph » Thu Jan 24, 2008 9:42 pm

I do know whatever i will put inside it will not match the rest (it will if a place a special order wish will cost a fortune!!!!!) . The purpose is: lose a little bit of weight (not me  ), great confort, increase side support and not spendind a fortune.

So i did call today Capital seat and did get a pair of pole position (ABE road legal) in black velour+mounts+side plates+ connections for airbags
for £920 included VAT +15 quids for delivery and this quite goog price i think!!!!!!

They do look good and i am sure it will be ok inside. 8)

Sounds like the ideal price and present to ones car.
I might even go for a pair myself now they are so cheap!
Good shopping.

Gordon, you're best going for the leather and black alcantara option - they are not much much more and at least they will match your interior a bit better (cheapskate!)

Can someone clarify fitting parts needed please? I was inder the understanding that I would need subframes, but I've been told I only need the side mounts and locking/sliding runners. Do the side mounts bolt throught the floor then and not to a subframe?

Do a search for pole position and find a post by Doug. He lists the part numbers. AFAICT,
you need sidemounts and the console/rails. I think this is like a shim which allows you
to bolt their seats up to the factory frames (so they can make all their seats the same
and just provide adapters)

Steph, I spent months (literally) researching these seats!

We offer the Pole Position ABE trimmed in Ambla leather (black) on the bolsters/borders with Dinamica Suede centre panels (black, red, blue, beige or silver) for an extra £56 ... from .... http://www.k300performance.co.uk/recaro ... -seats.htm

Nige
The "Ambla" leather is not real leather it is a very good man made material.
I have it on a set of seats in my ur quattro. They do look good, you would be hard pushed to notice.
