Fitting S4 lump into passat B5, wiring questions

Hello all

well I am now really looking into fitting S4 lump into the passat.

Mine a 1999 and already running RS4 gearbox diff etc but at moment ive got a 2.8 30v v6 engine with supercharger.

Now my mate who has a s4 lump really wants my charger and to be honest I think the car be alot better as turboed

One thing I have to decided is to keep my engine or use the S4 lump.

But my main question for the wiring guru's out there

his loom and ecu came out of a 99 car. Will this plug and work straight off on my car? The ECU already have the immoboliser removed as it was all going in his kit car.

Or amy I better of just mapping my original ECU to run on my original 2.8 lump upto 8psi? or less?

Seen an audi S4 block used to replace a 2.8 V6 supercharged car. And S4 engine can run alot more boost. just the block was used, everything else was from the original 2.8 v6 engine.

2.8 heads with 2.8 cams would cause overlap

runs well on my mates car. with the standard 2.8 engine with supercharger made 256.4bhp low boost. but with S4 bottom end was able to run higher boost. made 300 bhp

the exhaust cams of a normally aspirated car will have to much overlap for a tubo car to make any usefull power without reving it high..
even with running combinations of 2.4 and 2.8 inlets
they will work just not very well..

i too thought the same but as we found out it was just going to be wasting boost and nitrous straight out of the exhaust valves.

You are just plain WRONG. The exhaust cams are THE SAME in all 30v engines, apart from the 3.0 NA. The same means the same, only intake cams have too much overlap in the 2.8 engines, and the 2.4 intake cams are the RS4 ones, period. If you don't believe me, then ask me how I know it.

guys thanx for the reply

well looks like ill be using a S4 or rs4 bottom end, my heads and then get the inlet cams.

I can get the s4 manfiold/turbos and this 99 loom with ECU but i really need to confirm this will plug and play into a Passat B5 loom.

Does anyone have a wiring diagramm where I can check wire colour etc?
