An interesting device that may be if interest

Post by Silversea » Thu Nov 22, 2007 1:23 pm

Hi Guy’s,

Thought that this very clever little device might be of interest to some of the owners on here: :o

http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/ttforumbbs/vi ... 98&start=0

Although it is designed to fit in the air vent of the mk1 TT it will be able to be used on the B5 (I asked the guy that is designing it and he said that it should be transferable as I’m looking to change to a B5 RS4 soonish).
If you have a look through the threads it is a very clever little device that has been designed to simply plug into the diagnostic port.

Wouldn't look very good in a B5 (as obviously it's been designed to look good in a TT), but sounds like an incredible little piece of kit.

Some of the members are looking to fit the gauge in other places rather than in an air-vent as shown in the links. Could it not be fabricated into the ash-tray????

Centre of the Gauge pod and cover our failing DIS's?

I'd quite like all that functionality on a slightly bigger screen mounted below the drivers side dash vent.

Does look like an extremely ingenious piece of kit - very smart indeed. I too would like one of these displays but mounted in a B5 vent pod (to replace the drivers-side single vent pod)

I'm sure he mentioned that he could supply a 3.5" screen if it could be placed somewhere......

wonder if they could use the TV input on the Tuner for the Nav-Plus then we could have a 5.25" screen and totally OEM at the flick of the mode button

I'd be very interested if I could mount it in front of the DIS

I've had no follow-up from my message to him. I sent him a message asking what the possibility for fitment to a B5 is, given that same ECU, and that I'm willing to find all the data he needs or maintain any B5-specific work. No response to that message. Bum.

Guess I'm going ot have to learn electronics and stuff...
